About

Software advice from the office side of the trade.

PlumberSaaS is an independent publication for plumbing business owners. It compares the software shops run on, breaks down what it really costs, and covers the business side of starting and growing a plumbing company — licensing, pricing jobs, getting the phone to ring.

Tom Beckett
Tom Beckett Editor, PlumberSaaS

Tom spent nine years running operations for a residential plumbing company in the Midwest — owning the dispatch board, the flat-rate price book, two software migrations nobody volunteered for, and the Monday-morning report the owner actually read. He left to write about the tools plumbing shops run on. He is not a licensed plumber and does not play one on the internet: PlumberSaaS covers the business and software side of the trade, not how to sweat a joint.

Why this site exists

Ask a software question in any plumbing forum and you get two kinds of answers: ads written by vendors, and war stories from owners who tried one tool once, years ago. Neither tells you what the Grow plan costs a ten-person shop after seats and add-ons, or which dispatch board falls apart when three techs call in sick. PlumberSaaS exists to write the third kind of answer: the one built from the pricing page, the feature matrix and nine years of watching real crews use — and abandon — these tools.

How the comparisons work

Every comparison and pricing guide starts from the vendor's own published material: the pricing page, the plan feature lists, the help center. Figures are date-stamped in the article, and where a vendor publishes no prices (ServiceTitan and FieldEdge quote everything), we use multiple independent reports and label the numbers as reported — never as a rate card. Rankings are ours. Vendors cannot pay for placement, and affiliate commissions never change a verdict; the full policy is on the editorial policy page and the money side is on the affiliate disclosure page.

What this site is not

PlumberSaaS covers the business of plumbing, not the trade itself. You will not find how-to plumbing instructions here, and nothing on this site is legal, tax or licensing advice — licensing rules in particular change and vary by state, so confirm yours with your state board before you act on anything in the start-and-grow guides.

What comes next

The comparisons fund a bigger question: after reviewing every major tool, is there still a gap worth building for? The PlumberSoft waitlist is where owners can register interest and tell us what their current software still gets wrong. If the gap is real, that list hears about it first.
